To place your order, please complete the Portrait Order Form.
After you have placed your order, please send me the photograph(s) of the person or pet you want drawn (see "Choosing the Best Photograph"). You may send your picture via e-mail to info@kimhainesportraits.com or regular mail (contact me for address.) Any physical photos sent will be returned with the finished artwork. I am also happy to look at your pictures and discuss any special requests before you make your purchase.
If your photo needs to be digitally cropped (for close ups, etc.), or you are requesting lettering to be added, I will email you the proposed lay-out for approval before beginning your portrait.
If your photo is to contain multiple subjects, you can mail me several people in one photo, or separate photos and I will combine them in one custom portrait.
Payment
50% of the payment is required to begin work, with the other 50% due when your portrait is completed. Once I receive your photograph to be drawn, an invoice will be sent to your e-mail address for the first 50% to be paid via Pay-Pal, check, or money order. Once I receive this payment, I will begin work on your portrait.
Please note there will be a two-week waiting period if paying with a personal check or money order to ensure the check has cleared.
A scan or digital photograph of your completed portrait will be e-mailed to you for preview and acceptance. You will also be informed of your shipping options and costs at that time.
Upon your acceptance, your final payment plus shipping costs will be due. Once payment is received, your completed pencil portrait will be mailed to you.
Shipping
I ship via Priority Mail (2-3 days). However, if you prefer to have it sent via Express Mail this can be arranged for an additional fee.
Completion Time
You are receiving a custom portrait which takes effort and time. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your portrait to be completed, depending on current commission workload. A scan or digital photograph of your completed portrait will be e-mailed to you for preview and acceptance. I want to make sure you are completely satisfied with your purchase. Upon your acceptance (and final payment), your completed portrait will be mailed to you.
If you have a special event or occasion that is approaching, please let me know and I will make every effort to expedite your portrait.
Additional Policies/Details
I own all copyrights to the artwork created. Although you may own the finished drawing, you may not reproduce any of my work without written consent from me. If you would like additional prints made, please contact me for pricing.
I use a heavy weight Acid-Free paper in classic cream color. Please let me know in advance if you prefer white paper instead of cream.
All finished portraits are sprayed with a fixative to help protect your artwork. I also leave a margin around the drawing to allow you room to have your picture matted and framed.
